Before there was a book series, there was one wild toddler, a naked balance bike session, and a 4-foot drop off a rock wall.
This story was inspired—almost moment for moment—by a real stack my son had when he was barely walking. He’d taken to his balance bike like a duck to water, zooming around the yard with zero fear, zero helmet, and zero clothes. I thought, “He’s low to the ground, what’s the worst that could happen?”
Then one day, he missed the stairs by inches and launched off a garden ledge.
Miraculously, no injuries. But the message was clear: kids will be kids, so put a helmet on while they take risks.
Bazza Has a Stack is filled with tongue-in-cheek humour that parents will get and kids will love. It celebrates the wild, curious child who acts first and learns after (sound familiar?). Bazza doesn’t get told to slow down—he gets a helmet, and the freedom to send it.
