Bazza Koala’s Story
Bazza Koala is an adventurous young joey from the Gold Coast, Queensland. He loves surfing, riding bikes, snowboarding, skateboarding, and getting muddy! Always chasing action and excitement, Bazza sometimes gets a little carried away — and, like many young koalas, he often learns life’s lessons the hard way.

We want kids to get out and explore their surroundings, and to develop a deeper appreciation for nature, fostering a generation of young readers who are curious and connected to the world around them.

Josh is the dad of 2 boys who provide endless inspiration for Bazza adventures. When Josh isn’t writing Bazza books, he is surfing, and when he isn’t surfing, he is still surfing in his head. Josh is also a professional Saxophonist and educator, and has worked in the music industry since he was a young Koala.
After searching far and wide, Josh found the perfect illustrator to bring Bazza to life. He struck gold when he found Diana Mendoza, an absolute ripper artist from Caracas, Venezuela. Her illustrations are chockers with life and do an awesome job of visually telling Josh’s stories. If you look closely, you might even spot some cheeky paw prints, lightning bolts, and hidden gems tying the story, and the whole series, together.
